Jillian is still reading Wild Rescuers: Expedition on the Tundra By StacyPlays
After her 5 year old brother correctly answered 6x2 before Jillian could last week, we are going to work on memorizing the basic multiplication facts this week with worksheets and flashcards.
Writing:
For writing this week we are working on a family newspaper which we will mail to grandparents and great-grandparents at the end of the week. Today Jillian wrote a first draft of interviews with each family member and typed up what she wrote last week about Lone Elk Park. She also made a comic page. Tomorrow we will revise this writing, and add another couple articles. Then we'll work on formatting the newspaper and finally on Friday we'll print and learn how to address envelopes to mail.
For fun, Jillian made a stop motion video
I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have in the writing plans for Friday to write friendly letters and mail them off to a family member. You were reading my mind.
Math- reviewing multiplication facts is always a great skill to practice. Having a strong foundation of this skill will be very important moving forward in math. Practice away! Jillian, you got this!!!
Reading- Good retelling. Strong readers recall the important events of the story they are reading as well as notice the small details. For a teacher, the most important part is to know that you are thinking from the evidence you wrote. Next time can you please add a sentence like I think... or this makes me think...
Your stop motion video is cool! Maybe one day you can send me a video teaching me how to make one. Tomorrow we are going to have a Google Meet meeting at 2:30pm for our class. It will be in the plans in the morning saying, "Show us your Zen Zone!" Now, if you didn't create one, not a problem. You can say pass. You can say, "To relax I go to my room." You can say we each have our own spot." You can say whatever you want or nothing at all. The choice is yours. There is no pressure.
Thank you for all your work today, Jillan! Keep it up.
:-) Miss T.
